Queens Botanical Garden Field Trip Report
As part of ARC 486, I completed an on-site field study and analytical presentation of the Queens Botanical Garden Visitor and Administration Building, one of New York City’s early award-winning sustainable public buildings. The assignment required documenting building information, construction systems, and sustainable exterior and interior finishes, as well as analyzing site and landscape strategies such as bioswales, rainwater harvesting, green roofs, and greywater management. The project culminated in a structured PDF presentation combining original site observations, photographs, research, and a personal reflection on how integrated architecture and landscape design contribute to environmental performance and public education.
